Handcrafted soaps and oils made with Himalayan herbs that are often used in worshipping the great Hindu deities: Ganesh, Shiva, Laxmi, Devi and Krishna.

GANESH - The corpulent, elephant-headed Ganesh, Creator and Remover of Obstacles, is loved throughout Asia. The Lord of Hosts, whose obesity contains the whole universe, is kind-hearted, always just, sometimes mischievous, and a surprisingly graceful dancer. Seekers of knowledge venerate him as a god of wisdom. As the Remover of Obstacles, he is worshipped by people suffering from an unlimited range of afflictions. Just as an elephant tramples everything in its path, so too does Ganesh remove impediments. Worshipping Ganesh before any undertaking or ritual is essential –- he appears jovial but can be malevolent if not propitiated sincerely. Ganesh even challenged his divine mother Parvati for failing to obtain his benediction.

GANESH HIBISCUS - 100gr - $6.50

We salute Ganesh with an auspicious soap containing the leaves and essential oil of hibiscus (a favorite offering) in a base of coconut, olive, soybean, and sunflower oils – sure to remove all obstacles to cleanliness! Hibiscus is great for use on hair as well as body.

SHIVA - Shiva “the Auspicious” is undoubtedly the most awesome god of the Hindu trinity, yet his consort Parvati found him a less than ideal husband, often leaving her to spend years in meditation. Shiva is the Destroyer, the pot-smoking Lord of Wandering Ascetics, the Lord of the Cosmic Dance. His name means purity, and his perfect consciousness, untainted by all obligations, actions and forms. Shiva lacks guile and pretense and refuses to follow social conventions. As Pashupati, benevolent Lord of the Beasts, Shiva is the guardian and protector of Nepal.

SHIVA COCUNUT SANDALWOOD - 100gr - $6.50

The leaves of the bael (Aegle marmelos) and the amla (Emblica officinalis) trees are essential in worshipping Shiva, as is sandalwood. We’ve combined these ingredients with haritaki (Terminalia chebula) and our Shiva essential oil blend, in a base of coconut, olive, soybean and sunflower oils to create a soap fit for mortals and gods alike. This soap is especially good for dry skin.

LAXMI - Laxmi, Mother of the Cosmos, radiates beauty and benevolence and symbolizes the promise and pleasure of worldly life. She is heart, she is love, she is compassion. Even demons sing of her glory. The milk of her cow feeds the world for all eternity. Laxmi is Nature’s bounty and eternally faithful to those who do not abuse her gifts. In performing Laxmi puja (worship), devotees decorate the thresholds of their homes, light candles to guide her to the entryways, and beckon her with special offerings to invoke her blessings.

LAXMI - 100gr - $6.50

In homage to this goddess, our soap contains infusions of bael (Aegle marmelos), the fruit of plenty that originated as Laxmi’s breast, and amla (Emblica officinalis)), a fruit sacred to Laxmi. This soap, which contains our Laxmi scent, peach leaves, and coconut, corn, olive, and soybean oils, is without doubt one of the worldly pleasures that are the gift of Laxmi. Our Laxmi soap is particularly good for normal and mature skins.

DEVI - The sole principle of creative energy is personified in the goddess Devi. She bestows life, sustains it, and takes it away. Devi is the seductive nymph, the nurturing mother, the earth goddess, the hardened crone –- worshipped as goddess, feared as temptress. She is shakti, the dynamic untamable energy of the universe, as powerful as all the gods combined. When she unbinds her hair, bares her fangs, and dances naked, Devi reveals the dark side of Nature. Revere her fiery passion. Celebrate her power. Praise her valor. Love her and adore her. Those who ignore Devi or attempt to subdue her do so at their own peril!

DEVI - 100gr - $6.50

Like the forest spirits, we venerate Devi with flowers. We’ve combined rose petals, safflower and rose petal teas and our Devi essential oil blend, in a base of coconut, corn, olive, and soybean oils to create soap with a luxurious lather and seductive fragrance that will delight the goddess within. Our Devi soap is particularly good for mature or sensitive skins.

KRISHNA - An incarnation of Vishnu, the handsome and seductive flute-playing Krishna is irresistible to all. He is the embodiment of love, slayer of demons, performer of miracles, and a great warrior and statesman. Dancing and playing his flute, Krishna beckons the souls of all creatures to dance to his music, which is the dharma. Through Krishna, carnal urges are elevated to spiritual longings. When Krishna’s wives sought to give the great sage Narada something worth Krishna in weight, no amount of gold could balance the scale on which Krishna sat. Finally Rukmini, poorest of Krishna’s wives, placed a sprig of tulsi (Holy Basil) on the gold, saying it symbolized her love for Krishna. Instantly, the balance tilted.
